Detailed Description

The spacious EMPAT laundry basket combines timeless craftsmanship with functional design. Its opaque walls and fitted lid make it perfect for storing laundry discreetly until wash day. The natural, sun-dried banana fibres develop an intense reddish-brown tone, and craftsmen roll the fibres into characteristic, approximately 6 mm thick strands. The hand-applied white cotton cords provide decorative contrast and reinforce the basket’s structure.

Each basket is made from the layered trunks of agriculturally used banana trees; only old, dying trees are harvested so the material gains a second life as a robust, dimensionally stable raw material. No harmful chemicals are used in production, and nylon thread is used as necessary for secure stitching.
