KUBU combines functional design with natural materials. The oval shape and the braided cotton cord motif known as "Kawung" in Indonesian give each basket a distinctive, artisanal appearance that enhances any room.

Materials: Main material: banana fibre. Other materials: cotton, nylon thread. Banana fibres are sourced from the layered trunks of cultivated banana trees. The deep brown color develops naturally when the fibres are sun-dried for about a week. Individual strips are then rolled into characteristic strands approximately 6 mm thick. Only old, dying banana trees are used, giving these plants a second life as a stable, robust raw material for handcrafted baskets.
