Material & craftsmanship

Our marble comes from a region in East Java renowned for marble handicrafts. The local tradition passes skills from older to younger generations: quarried by licensed companies to protect the local ecosystem, the raw marble is first split, then chiselled into shape and finally polished. The main processing is carried out by hand, occasionally with the help of special machines, ensuring distinct variations and a genuinely artisanal finish.

Production site & ethical standards

These coasters are handmade in Java, Indonesia. We carefully select local producers who provide fair pay and safe working conditions. Only adult, experienced artisans are employed in the workshops we work with. No harmful chemicals are used in production, and because the work is predominantly manual, the manufacturing process produces minimal greenhouse gas emissions. We verify these standards through regular on-site visits and ongoing personal contact with our partners.
