The RAHAYU cushion cover is handwoven by experienced artisans on traditional wooden looms from unbleached natural cotton. The preserved natural color and subtle striped pattern give the cover a pure, modern look that integrates easily with many interior styles. Materials & Origin
Our pillowcases are made from cotton sourced from local farmers on Java, Indonesia. The cotton fields are naturally fertilized and harvested by hand. After picking, the cotton is ginned, pressed into bales, combed and spun into yarn largely by hand. Skilled craftsmen then weave the yarn on traditional wooden looms. The resulting fabric retains the natural aroma and tactile qualities of plant fibers. Cotton is known for absorbency and skin friendliness; because our cotton is not chemically processed, these products are not suitable for tumble drying and should be ironed at low temperatures.
Care Instructions
To preserve the quality and natural color of the pillowcase, we recommend a gentle hand wash in cold water. Do not bleach. Avoid direct drying in strong sunlight to prevent color fading. Iron on low heat if needed. Tumble drying is not suitable for these unprocessed cotton covers.
Ethical Production
This pillowcase is handmade in Java, Indonesia. We work with adult, experienced artisans and prioritize fair pay and good working conditions. No harmful chemicals are used in the production process. Because the entire production is artisanal and manual, greenhouse gas emissions from manufacturing are minimal. We verify these standards through regular on-site visits and continuous personal contact with our partner producers.
