Features and overview

These handmade rattan wall hooks combine decorative appeal with practical function. The MAKU coat rack is suited for hanging jackets, hats, scarves, keys or light bags. Each piece is shaped from natural rattan into a round form using heat, then bound with thinner rattan fibers to create a sturdy, attractive surface. The classic, neutral design integrates easily into a variety of interiors and brings a natural, warm touch to your home.

The MAKU hooks come in two variants: the smaller 25 x 25 cm version and the larger 35 x 35 cm version. Depending on the size, each rack is fitted with four or five hooks. As these are handcrafted items, individual pieces may show slight variations in size, color and shape.

Materials & sustainability

Main material: rattan. Our coat racks are produced from plant fibers and retain the natural scent and texture of rattan. Rattan palms grow prolifically in dense forests and are often regarded as invasive; harvesting the fast-growing stems requires no chemical additives. After drying, the stems are suitable for crafting furniture and baskets. This abundant, rapidly renewable resource makes rattan an environmentally responsible choice.

No harmful chemicals are used during production. Because every step is done by hand, the manufacturing process generates minimal greenhouse gas emissions.
