The Seminyak lampshade is crafted by arranging natural rattan struts around a durable metal frame in a round form that tapers slightly toward the top. When illuminated, the woven rattan casts soothing, warm shadow patterns across walls and ceilings, creating a cosy, inviting atmosphere in living rooms, bedrooms, dining areas or reading nooks.

Materials & sustainability

The shade is made from sustainably sourced rattan. Rattan palms often grow in dense forests where they are considered vigorous, fast-regenerating plants; stems are harvested regularly without chemical additives and dry naturally before being used for furniture and handicrafts. This regenerative growth and low-impact processing make rattan an environmentally responsible, abundantly available material. The internal metal frame provides shape and stability while keeping the overall weight low.

Handmade variations

Each Seminyak lamp is an individually handcrafted item. Slight variations in size, color and shape are normal due to hand production and natural material differences, and are part of the product's unique character.

Production & ethical sourcing

This lampshade is handmade in Bali, Indonesia. We select local producers who provide fair pay and good working conditions. All manufacturing steps are completed by adult, experienced artisans without harmful chemicals. Because each step is done by hand, the production process generates minimal greenhouse gas emissions. We maintain these standards through regular on-site visits and ongoing personal contact with our partner workshops.
