Materials & sustainability: The trays are crafted from plant fibers and natural rattan palms, and the construction may include woven water hyacinth with an internal metal frame for added stability. Rattan palms frequently grow in dense forests where they can be invasive; cutting and using the fast-regenerating stems is a sustainable practice. The stems dry naturally and are processed without chemical aids, making rattan and similar plant fibers a plentiful, eco-friendly raw material. The finished trays retain the natural scent and tactile feel of plant fiber products.

Handmade quality & variations: Each tray is an individually handcrafted piece. Slight variations in size, color, texture, and shape are normal and to be expected due to the handmade production process and natural material differences. These small inconsistencies contribute to the unique character of each tray.

Production site & ethical standards: This tray was handmade in Java, Indonesia. We select local producers who provide fair pay and safe working conditions. Only adult, experienced artisans work on these products. No harmful chemicals are used during manufacturing, and because most steps are performed by hand, the production process generates minimal greenhouse gas emissions.
