Material & Sustainability

Material: Water hyacinth (plant fiber). These baskets are made from renewable plant fibers and emphasize natural texture and scent. Water hyacinth is a tropical aquatic plant that, in many regions, proliferates rapidly and becomes invasive. Harvesting and processing this plant supports environmental management while providing an abundant, sustainable raw material.

Processing: Leaves are removed and the thick stems are sun-dried for three to seven days before weaving. No harmful chemicals are used in production.

Use & Functionality

Designed as a laundry basket but versatile enough for storing toys, blankets, towels, magazines, or kindling. The fitted lid keeps contents out of sight and protected from dust. Two attached handles allow comfortable transport even when the basket is full.

Production & Fair Trade

Handmade in Java, Indonesia. We select local producers who provide fair pay and safe working conditions. Only experienced adult artisans work on these pieces. All steps are carried out by hand, minimizing greenhouse gas emissions associated with production. We maintain these standards through regular on-site visits and continuous personal contact with our manufacturing partners.
