The WAISAI placemat is carefully woven from raffia fibres with meticulous attention to detail. Its braided pattern and eye-catching fringes create a tropical, bohemian look that brings a beach-like atmosphere to everyday dining. Functionality & care:

These placemats protect dining surfaces from scratches, spills and dents while adding decorative texture to your table setting. Material details:

Made from raffia (Corypha utan), a plant fiber harvested from leaves that are sun-dried and processed into wickerwork. Raffia offers a pleasantly soft yet robust texture and a natural scent. Due to the manual production process and natural variations in the fibers, slight differences in size, color and shape may occur, making each placemat an individual piece of craft.

Origin & ethical production:

Handmade in Java, Indonesia. We partner with local artisans and factories that ensure fair pay and safe working conditions. Only adult, experienced craftsmen are employed, and no harmful chemicals are used in production. Because each step is done by hand, the manufacturing process produces minimal greenhouse gas emissions. We verify these practices through regular on-site visits and ongoing personal contact with our producers.
