Material background: Raffia grows naturally across steppe and forest areas of Southeast Asia. Leaves are renewed approximately every two years; the old leaves are collected, sun-dried, and processed into wickerwork. This labor-intensive, partly rare fiber produces a soft yet durable material prized locally for everyday objects. Because our poufs are crafted from plant fibers, they retain a natural scent and tactile warmth.

Production and sustainability: Each PADAR pouf is an individual, artisanal product. Slight variations in size, color, and shape may occur due to the handmade production process and the natural variation of materials. We select local producers who guarantee fair pay and safe working conditions; only adult, experienced artisans take part in production. No harmful chemicals are used, and the entirely manual production steps keep greenhouse gas emissions minimal. We verify these practices through regular on-site visits and ongoing personal contact with our partner workshops.
