Materials & Production

The pouf is woven from raffia (Corypha utan), a plant fiber sourced from Southeast Asian steppe and forest areas. Leaves are periodically renewed by the plant and the older leaves are harvested, sun-dried, and processed by hand to achieve the desired color and texture. Raffia is valued for its soft yet sturdy character; its relative rarity and labor-intensive processing make it a premium natural material.

The interior filling blends cotton and coconut fibers, producing a comfortable, supportive feel. No harmful chemicals are used during manufacturing.

This pouf is handmade in Java, Indonesia. We select local producers who meet our standards for fair pay and safe working conditions. All manufacturing steps are performed by adult, experienced artisans.
