Material & origin: Water hyacinth is a tropical aquatic plant originally from South America and widely found in Southeast Asia. To prepare for weaving, leaves are removed and thick stems are sun-dried for three to seven days, producing a resilient, abundant raw material. The trays are handcrafted in Java, Indonesia, by experienced adult artisans. We prioritize fair pay, good working conditions, and avoid harmful chemicals. The entirely manual production reduces greenhouse gas emissions and results in unique pieces—expect slight variations in size, colour and shape due to natural materials and handcrafting.

Care & use: Use BESAKIH as a serving tray on the dining table, a practical organizer for preserving jars and spices, or a decorative accent on a shelf or console. Wipe clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth; avoid prolonged exposure to moisture to preserve the natural fibers.
