Detailed description

Dayana is a tall, slim vase woven around a durable metal frame, designed to accentuate corners, niches, and narrow spaces. The alternating natural and black-dyed fibers create an eye-catching striped pattern that complements boho, Scandinavian, and contemporary decor.

The braided construction is ideal for dried flowers and pampas grass. The vase can also hold fresh cut flowers when a waterproof inner container is used to prevent water contact with the woven fibers and metal frame.

Measurements & weight

Diameter (widest point) x height: 30 x 50 cm. Weight: 0.58 kg. Please note: our products are artisanal, unique pieces. Slight variations in size, color, and shape may occur due to handcrafting and natural material differences.

Main material & environmental background

Primary material: water hyacinth. These plant fibers retain a natural, earthy scent and texture. Water hyacinth is a tropical aquatic plant originally from South America and widely present in Southeast Asia, where it often grows prolifically and can overwhelm waterways. To create a sustainable raw material, the leaves are removed and the thick stems are sun-dried for three to seven days before weaving. Using this abundant resource supports waste reduction and produces durable materials for woven goods.

Production & ethics

This vase is handmade in Java, Indonesia. We select local producers who meet our standards for fair pay and safe working conditions: only adult, experienced artisans work in our partner workshops, and no harmful chemicals are used in production. Because every stage of production is performed by hand, our manufacturing process generates very low greenhouse gas emissions. We maintain these standards through regular on-site visits and continuous personal contact with our producers.

Care instructions

Wipe dust off gently with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or heavy moisture to preserve color and fiber integrity. If using fresh flowers, place a sealed waterproof container inside the vase to protect the woven fibers and metal frame from water damage.
